WHAT IS BIOFIELD TUNING
Biofield Tuning is a sound healing modality developed by Eileen McKusick. It is a sound healing method aimed to promote nervous system relaxation, restore energetic flow, and release tension. Biofield tuning utilizes tuning forks of different frequencies, awareness, and breath to help guide the body to a relaxed state where it can better heal itself, and become more aligned to its optimum state of being.

The Biofield Tuning website is a wealth of knowledge and wonderful resource for exploring and learning more about the science behind this modality.

HOW BREATH CAN INVITE MORE EASE
Breath is life. We would not be alive without breath. It is the first action we take when we arrive into the world, and the last before we go. One will take thousands and thousands of breaths throughout their human life. Engaging in conscious breath can help deepen our capacity for bodily awareness; oxygenate each of our cells; it can help regulate our nervous system and expel carbon dioxide from our blood. Welcoming full, deep, conscious breaths can engage our parasympathetic nervous system, the part of our nervous system that helps us rest and heal. Our parasympathetic nervous system helps regulate our entire system and get us out of sympathetic nervous system activation, or "fight or flight" mode. Focusing on the breath can expand our ability to navigate stress, and bring us back to the present moment.
HOW VOICE CAN HELP US HEAL
Singing can be profoundly helpful for health and vitality, and here are some interesting findings supporting how:
1. Vocalizing, or any form of singing, stimulates the Vegas nerve, which regulates the key organs of the body, firstly the heart and the lungs and the digestion. (E.g. John Stuart Reid)
2. Music and singing promotes stress reduction, lowered cortisol levels, lowered blood pressure and pain modulation by the activation of endogenous opioids. (E.g. John Stuart Reid)
3. Full body sound immersion promotes the availability of oxygen in the blood, via the hemoglobin and the production of nitric oxide, thus aiding repair and pain modulation. (E.g. John Stuart Reid)
4. Sound and vocal harmonics create new neuronal networks in the brain by stimulating the fascia, the gelatinous tissue that connects the synapses of the brain. (E.g. Susan Gallagher Borg)
